Outdoor Photo Library is a brand new stock photography website, providing a bespoke download service, supplying high quality images for horticultural, media, editorial, educational and personal use. The website has a wide range of new and interesting images exclusive to outdoorphotolibrary.com which you will find nowhere else on the internet.
We were approached by the founder of the business to design and develop the online brand, website creative and build a bespoke interface with all the functionality you would expect from an online photo library. The result is an elegant looking, clear and simple to use website which features a rich and complimentary layout that gives the user a sense of enjoyment due to the calibre of images they view.
A bit about the design...
The initial home page gives the user that all important wow factor with a super large series of headline images and a large, easy to use search box which can't be missed. The whole layout is generally geared around showing off the all important thing about this website, the imagery. Each search brings back an index of photos in formation and this gives the user an easy to view roll-over zoom before they decide to click through and read all the details on that photo. Once on detail page, we've been able to provide all the usual details for the photo such as rights managed, releases, restrictions, copyright, size usage, purchase download options and the ability to request a quote for extra usage. All of this not only gives the user all the information at their fingertips, but also gives google what it wants, content!
Within the backend of this website, there's a complex content management system (Pixaria) which has been completely re-skinned and customised specifically for outdoorphotolibrary.com. There's full SEO functionality too which ensures we can build and full online marketing strategy with ongoing support and maintenance.
All in all, this has been one of our favourite projects we've worked on this year, the client has been receptive to all our suggestions and advice (even though he's a creative by profession too) which has meant we've been able to have a free reign from start to finish.
