Brand Development: Rutting Reds Venison

Rutting Reds is a small family run free range deer park in Northamptonshire. Their aim was to produce venison on land that would traditionally have been farmed for cereal production or sheep and cattle grazing. The venison produced is sold direct to top restaurants and chefs around the UK. Rutting Reds Vensions sausages, burgers and steaks are also sold via a local farmers market. Venison is a remarkably lean meat. It is leaner than skinless chicken and has less than half the cholesterol too. Venison is a good source of essential Omega 3 fatty acids, protein, and B vitamins. And more importantly it has a wonderful flavour.

The brand name, logo and brand have been created to portray the natural way the deer are reared and the quality of the produce as well as professionalism of husbandry. The reflected stags and back to back 'R's were created with the parks gates in mind. It need to be strong, powerful and proud like the stag with the deep red representing the deep rich red of the venison meat.

Brave Creative also developed the Rutting Reds website to bring it up to date to give a more family run less corporate feel. As well as this the brand has been rolled out through packaging, branded uniforms, literature and large format displays. A series of adverts have been created for use in country event programmes that Rutting Reds attend including the annual Pytchley Hunt Point to Point in Northamptonshire.
